Fist of The North Star is based on the successful anime series of the same title and has ten of the original characters including Heart, Jagi, Juda, Kenshiro, Mamiya, Raoth, Rei, Shin, Thouther and Toki. Players enjoy the high-resolution fighting game using a joystick and five buttons. One button is used for special attack moves, while two buttons are used for punching and the other two buttons are used for kicking.
The characters need to check their North Star Seven Star Gauge and their life gauge in this game. Even if a player has life gauge left, if they lose all the seven stars in their North Star Seven Star Gauge, they die. A star is lost from the North Star Seven Star Gauge every time a special move is made against a player. Players should also watch the Boost and Aura gauges, which change when the character makes an attack move or is attacked. The Boost Gauge is deducted when the player attacks while the Aura Gauge deducts when the player is defending.
